Project Goal
The goal of the BACMA website redesign is to create a modern, user-friendly platform that reflects BACMA’s cultural identity and makes it easier for users to explore events and purchase tickets.
Solution
Redesigned BACMA website with a fresh, modern look and an intuitive layout to enhance user experience. The new BACMA website will allow users to engage with BACMA, explore events, and buy tickets seamlessly.

CONTEXT
A redesign is necessary to create a modern, user-friendly platform that reflects BACMA’s vibrant identity, enhances ticketing, and fosters stronger community engagement.
To better understand the BACMA community and its needs, I collaborated with the founder to learn their business objectives and shape the design goals, while also analyzing the website and gathering insights on user perspectives regarding its overall experience and visual presentation through user interviews.

A Chinese music community platform that offers musicians opportunities to perform, host concerts, and build meaningful connections with the Bay Area community.
Musicians in the Bay Area struggle to find consistent opportunities to perform, access resources to host concerts, and connect with a supportive community, limiting their ability to showcase their talents and grow their audience. Meanwhile audience can’t find a place to learn and enjoy traditional Chinese music.
Create a BACMA platform that helps Bay Area Chinese musicians host concerts, events, and provide music education to showcase their talents, reach new audiences, and strengthen connections within the Bay Area community.

Cultural elements should be a primary determinant of your visual design, especially for an organization like BACMA NGO, which focuses on music and culture.
Reduce Complexity
To make it easy for users to navigate the BACMA NGO website, prioritize clarity, consistency, and an intuitive information architecture.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the temporary closure of the BACMA event, the Founder has to pause all development on this project.
